Second Chance Spaniel Rescue (SCSR) was founded to
Save, Care, Support & Rehome spaniels in the UK
Our purpose: We aim to secure permanent loving homes for the dogs we take into our care.
Our teams: All our admins, home checkers, buddies (including administrators & behaviourists), fundraisers & transporters are all volunteers. They share a common interest in spaniels and their many crosses. We are always appreciative of help in any sphere – if you have a few spare hours & a passion for dogs, please get in touch.
Funding: Our organisation is fully supported through the generous contributions of our donors, along with merchandise sales and fundraising activities.
Surrendering your dog: Our compassionate & friendly surrender team is ready to assist you during the challenging time, should you need to rehome your dog. (Please click on the contact link in the menu to get in touch). You can use the contact form, giving as much detail as possible or call us for an informal chat – every situation is unique and we consider each dog on its merits.
We work alongside private individuals, veterinarians & dog wardens to offer emergency placements to needy dogs – sometimes even preventing dogs from being put to sleep. Our rescue uses approved, experienced & pre-checked foster homes rather than kennels, so all dogs coming into our care can be properly assessed in a home environment.
Foster homes: Each of our dogs is placed in a foster home, where they undergo assessment, receive veterinary care and support and receive any necessary vet treatment before being offered for adoption. Each fosterer is supported by one of our Buddys, who is their regular point of contact.
Adoption: Our process for pairing dogs with suitable adopters is thorough and successful, ensuring that our dogs find permanent, loving and nurturing homes. Our adoption team is dedicated to helping dogs find their forever homes and supporting new adopters. You can find out more by clicking on the menu button at the top of the page.
Available dogs: You can see the currently available dogs for both fostering & adopting on our Facebook page. Meanwhile, the dogs are being well-cared for & assessed by our wonderful fosterers, who are helping prepare them to begin their new lives in adopted homes.
