Karen
Founder
Hello, Iโm Karen, the founder of SCSR. I currently have two SCSR dogs โ Bonnie, who is 8, and Wills, who is 7. You may recognise Wills as the SCSR mascot boy.
Iโve had a passion for rescuing animals all my life โ it started when I rescued my very first animal at just seven years old. Since then, caring for and helping animals has always been close to my heart and is a huge part of who I am.
Iโm also a proud mum and grandma and love spending time with my grandchildren. When Iโm not busy with SCSR, I love travelling, going to the theatre, and spending time outdoors. One of my favourite pastimes is visiting and walking the hills and mountains of Wales with my husband and our two dogs.

Emma
Co-Founder
Hi, Iโm Emma, co-founder of SCSR. I live out in the countryside on a busy farm with 50+ alpacas, my other half, and five dogs โ four of whom are SCSR rescues, of course.
I foster some of the girls who come into our care and also look after the rescueโs accounts, so Iโm involved in both the practical and behind-the-scenes sides of things.
Iโm a proud mum to three grown-up children and a very happy grandma to four, with another grandson on the way.
In my spare time, I enjoy machine knitting pieces for our little shop, and I love spending time with my dogs, friends, and family.

Joni
Admin Team Leader
Hi, Iโm Joni and have been involved with SCSR for the last 4 years, having been involved in local rescues for the 20 years prior.
The growth of foster-based rescue was a new phenomenon to me, having worked on a local scale, and it excited me with how many more dogs and adopters you can potentially reach.
I live in beautiful North Wales, running a B&B with my current roll call of 6 dogs, of which 3 are adopted through SCSR and one is a long-term sanctuary dog.
I love all dogs, but seem to always end up with dog breeds starting with S โ Schnauzers and Spaniels being my favourite.
I enjoy endurance sports and hope to swim the Channel in my next decade.

Iโm owned by 2 Cockers and 2 Brittanies.
Iโm a foster carer as well as working full-time, and love nothing better than snuggling on the sofa in the evening with my girls and boys.
My fur-babies all mantrail and do scentwork to keep their minds busy.

Adoptions Team Leader
Hi, Iโm Amelia, volunteer at SCSR and serial fosterer of the more eccentric spaniels that come into the rescue.
Iโm a country girl through-and-through and can usually be found roaming footpaths, wild swimming or running along the headlands, always with my dogs in tow.
I am lucky to have grown up in an animal-loving family who have taken in any animal that needed help and given them a safe place full of love.
I am very proud to be continuing this legacy through my work with SCSR.
