Save. Care.
Support. Rehome.
We give spaniels in need their second chance at a happy, safe and loving life.
Save
We rescue spaniels and spaniel-type dogs who need safety, care and a second chance.
Care
Dogs are supported in foster homes while their needs, behaviour and wellbeing are assessed.
Support
We support fosterers, adopters and dogs throughout the process and beyond adoption.
Rehome
Every dog is carefully matched with the right home so they can thrive as part of a family.
From a conversation to a rescue
In November 2019, three passionate spaniel lovers, with over 30 years of rescue experience between them, came together with a shared dream. All were already involved in dog rescue and could see an increasing number of spaniels needing help. What began as a conversation soon became a commitment to make a difference.
From that vision, Second Chance Spaniel Rescue was born. Today, while the charity has grown far beyond what anyone imagined on that first evening, our values remain exactly the same: save, care, support and rehome.
Dogs arrive into our care from many different circumstances. Some are strays needing urgent medical attention, while others are much-loved family pets whose owners can no longer meet their needs. Whatever the situation, every dog deserves compassion, and every family is treated with kindness, understanding and without judgement.
Our love for this wonderful breed is at the heart of everything we do. Every successful rehoming reminds us why we started this journey and inspires us to continue giving spaniels the second chance they deserve.
